You too can participate in ArtStreet’s 3rd National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Project: Synergy: Common Threads

Workshops: We have completed a series of Fiber Arts and Writing workshops taught by professional Albuquerque Community Artists.   The series of workshops including  one-to-one mentoring opportunities come together and will be documented in a poetry book and art installation.

1:1 Mentoring: We have completed phase two of the project: 1:1 mentoring.  We were able to work alongside the visiting artists in order to start and or complete works of art for our summer art installation as well as for our new book of art and poetry.

Next Steps: We are Preparing for our art installation, poetry readings and book that documents this year’s lovely journey into the Fiber Arts World.  Stay tuned for an invitation to our show at the NHCC this July.

ArtStreet gives artists – homeless and housed – a forum to share experiences, create art, and increase awareness of issues of homelessness.  This project supports artists moving towards artistic skill building, integration of artists of color who can add to the diversity of studio participants, and creates an essential bridge between artists and arts organizations within the Albuquerque community.

This project is made possible by NEA and is in partnership with the National Hispanic Cultural Center and the Harwood Art Center.
