AHCH Harm Reduction Outreach Works to Keep People Safe

Harm-reduction philosophy—the goal isn’t to tell people how to live, but to offer options that will promote safety for both the individual and society, according to Martin Walker, outreach program coordinator for Albuquerque’s Health Care for the Homeless.

Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless’ Harm Reduction Outreach Team spreads their philosophy. Through partnerships and co-staffed outreach activities Safe Sex Work uses the philosophy to protect people who engage in sex work from further abuse.

AHCH Recipient of $3.5 Million for Facility Expansion

You make it possible! Local support is what enables Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless to be seen as a viable recipient of federal funds.

Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH) is honored to announce a $3.5 million award to construct a new building for enhanced drop-in and outreach services to people who are homeless. The Department of Health and Human Services awarded these funds to AHCH and other community health centers across the nation, as part of the Affordable Care Act.
